A metaphor: Find your spark!

A tiny spark can ignite a fire and rapidly consume a forest - if the proper conditions exist.
Pause for a moment and visualize the journey from inception through destruction. In most conditions that same spark would have smoldered and consumed itself. Under the right conditions a very small amount of energy initiated something much more grand.
Once the spark ignited that first flame, it fed on itself. It multiplied rapidly into more flames, It likely danced in one area for some time. Then the wind came and guided it away from that small circle in a different direction. There it found more fuel and became larger. The process continued until there was no more to accomplish or another force, far greater, brought it to an end.
What generates the sparks in your organization? Do you?
What is your forest? What is that journey you need to take, today?
What are the 'proper conditions' that will facilitate rapid acceptance of the journey you wish to begin?
Find the answer to these questions and you'll find excellence. You'll be better today than yesterday, even better tomorrow than today.
