One individual cannot phsyically perform all of the work required to accomplish a goal. The leader must leverage other resources available to them. I would challenge one's ability to perform all of the mental tasks required to successfully accomplish a goal as well.
Our great leaders understand they do not need to manage every aspect of an organization for it to be successful. As the leader, you should have installed a team capable of executing the charter of your organization. You have hired, or developed great people. You did not make these investments in people to provide you someone to direct each day. You hired these people to get things done.
Great leaders gain respect by providing the tools and resources that empower their organization to accomplish great things. Great leaders gain authority by giving it away.
